The Context
Set to launch on Jan 1, 2026, True Professional has already secured 130+ verified providers ready to work. True Professional is more than a marketplace; it is a legally vetted economic infrastructure for Nepal. Working closely with Nepal Rastra Bank and law enforcement, we built a platform where being a "True Professional" means financial independence without migration. To keep operational costs low while maintaining high performance for thousands of users, we architected a hybrid infrastructure using Hetzner bare metal servers for heavy lifting and AWS for edge delivery.
True Professional Inc. set out with a rigorous goal: to create a digital workspace that stands up to the scrutiny of national regulators. They needed a system that wasn't just functional but legally robust enough for financial transactions. Their technical requirement was "Efficiency at Scale"—they wanted to avoid the cloud cost trap while running advanced vector search, real-time scheduling, and secure backups.
Key Challenges
- × Regulatory Compliance: The app had to pass strict audits from Nepal Rastra Bank regarding data sovereignty and financial flow.
- × Cost vs. Performance: Running advanced AI ranking and vector search on standard managed cloud services would have burned the seed funding too fast.
- × Device Fragmentation: We needed a seamless experience across low-end Android devices (common in the field) and high-end iOS devices.
The Solution
We built a unified PWA using Next.js, tailoring the UI with Bootstrap for dense desktop dashboards and MUI for a fluid mobile app experience. The backend is a powerhouse NestJS monolith deployed on Hetzner Bare Metal servers, managing PostgreSQL with pgBackRest for bulletproof disaster recovery. For search, we implemented Meilisearch to provide instant, typo-tolerant provider discovery.
Advanced Scheduling
Curated time-slot management that allows providers to maximize their daily earning hours efficiently.
Vector Search & Ranking
Meilisearch integration delivers sub-50ms search results, matching tasks to the perfect provider skill profile.
Central Bank Recognition
Presented to Nepal Rastra Bank, who praised the initiative and provided guidance on payment service integration for secure financial operations.
Bare Metal & NestJS
We chose control over convenience. By running NestJS on bare metal, we unlocked raw CPU power for our ranking algorithms without the "noisy neighbor" issues of shared VPS. We implemented pgBackRest for enterprise-grade continuous archiving, ensuring that even in a catastrophic failure, not a single transaction log is lost—a critical requirement for our financial regulators.
Process
Infrastructure Architecting
Set up a hybrid cloud environment, leveraging Hetzner for raw compute/storage and AWS for global reach, drastically reducing OpEx.
Dual-Interface Design
Designed a "Adaptive UI" strategy: robust data tables for admin/desktops (Bootstrap) and touch-optimized flows for field agents (MUI).
Compliance & Security
Collaborated with legal teams to implement audit-ready logs and transaction tracing approved by Nepal Rastra Bank.
Algorithmic Ranking
Developed a custom ranking engine using Meilisearch to surface the best providers based on proximity, rating, and availability.
Impact
Achieved 99.99% uptime with 60% lower infrastructure costs compared to pure AWS.
Approved by Nepal Rastra Bank for digital labor payments.
Empowered reliable local earnings, reducing the pressure for skilled migration.
Provider retention rate hit 85% due to the curated scheduling system.
“Xenon gave us the technical backbone to sit across the table from the Central Bank and prove our platform is secure. That value is immeasurable.”
“I used to travel to the Gulf for work. Now, the scheduling system keeps me booked solid right here in Kathmandu. I earn my money at home.”
